About the Author

Emma Darwin was born and brought up in London, with interludes in Manhattan and Brussels. Her debut novel THE MATHEMATICS OF LOVE was published in 2006. THE MATHEMATICS OF LOVE was short listed for the Commonwealth Writers and Goss First Novel awards, long listed for the Prince Maurice Prize and the RNA Novel of the Year, and has been translated into many languages. A SECRET ALCHEMY is Emma’s second novel. Emma lives in the south east of London, and is currently finishing a PhD in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths College.
