Reader Reviews

"You could tell that Emma Darwin had a real interest in the historical setting of the novel and in the society of the time. On a personal level I am interested in the subject of 'invalidity' in literature and Darwin's portrayal of a maimed soldier was particularly interesting. Perhaps it would have been somewhat different had he not been injured during the war? I was always keen to return to his section to see if he would realise his feelings for Lucy and how the relationship would turn out."

"From start to finish THE MATHEMATICS OF LOVE is an engaging, emotional novel with believable characters that you actually care about. Both of the main characters are equally engaging. Anna Ware is very much a typical teenager who thinks she knows it all, but clearly as time goes on she realizes she has so much to learn about the world and the people in it. Stephen Fairhust I must say was my favourite of the two, I just couldn't help but root for him as he'd been through so much, and it was about time that he rediscovered life. I highly recommend this book, and will definitely be looking out for more books by this very talented author."
